Open magnet – your curtain 

Open Magnet – Your elevator curtain is used as part of the elevator control system to turn the elevator motor on and off. Sometimes called a “start-stop magnet” or “start-stop switch” it allows elevator operators to start the elevator when needed and stop it when finished. When the starting (open) magnet is activated, this allows electrical current to pass through the elevator motor, starting the movement. Once the stop magnet (open magnet) is deactivated, the power to the motor is cut off and the elevator stops moving.

This system allows elevator operators to control elevator operation easily and safely. The start and stop magnets are selected and designed based on the requirements and specifications of the specific elevator system.
